Jeffrey S. Batoff
Jeffrey S. Batoff is a partner with Obermayer Rebmann Maxwell & Hippel LLP. He is Vice Chairman of the Litigation Department, Chairman of the Intellectual Property Litigation Group, and a member of the firm's governing body, the Management Committee.
Mr. Batoff has extensive experience in intellectual property law, patent prosecution, patent and trademark litigation, complex civil litigation and commercial litigation.
He received his Bachelor of Arts degree, cum laude, from the University of Pennsylvania, and Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the University of Pennsylvania School of Law, Order of the Coif. Prior to graduation, he was honored with the American Juris Prudence Award, Contracts, and the American Juris Prudence Award, Torts. He joined Obermayer in 1986.
Mr. Batoff has conducted numerous seminars on "How to Take Law Exams," and was previously an adjunct professor for Drexel University, Philadelphia (1986-91). He is author of the Law School Exam Handbook, published in 1985. He served on the City of Philadelphia Planning Commission for nearly twenty years, until 2006, culminating his decades of public service as Chairman.
Mr. Batoff is also politically active. He has served as Chairman of the Casey for Auditor General Committee, as well as Chairman of the 1996 and 2000 Auditor General Campaigns. He acted as General Counsel to Casey for Treasurer and serves as an advisor to the Casey for Senate campaign. He has also been involved with dozens of campaigns for mayor, state representative, state senate, governor and president.
Mr. Batoff is a member of the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and American Bar Associations. He is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey, and the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Third Circuit and the Federal Circuit.
